Staying Alert and Safe
The government information on when you can leave your home will be changing from Wednesday 13 May. For details on the changes for people living in England, see staying alert and safe (social distancing) on GOV.UK.
Symptoms and what to do
Do not leave your home if you have or someone you live with has either:
- a high temperature - this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
To protect others, DO NOT go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home.
More information can be found on the gov.uk website on what to do if you or someone you live with has symptoms of coronavirus.
You can also use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do. Only call 111 if you cannot get help online. You can also get an isolation note from NHS 111.
